Fire in Slave Lake

My wife and I are sitting in a hotel in Slave lake. We are surrounded by wildfires. There are 34 - 36 fires in Alberta and 4 of them are surrounding Slave Lake. We are in an emergency evacuation. All the highways are shut down. The fire was within 6 km of our house when I left at 7 Pm. The wind was blowing very strongly in the direction of our house. I hope we are not burned out.Only time will tell. It is 12:08...The tornado in 1987 that went through Edmonton has taught me that worrying will not help.We thought our house was destroyed then and found out later we were only wrecked.We will know more later.
